After looking on the internet for literally HOURS for a pet ramp that would be suitable for an SUV, I came across this one. Purchased it and we’re happy with it so far. Our dog has hip dysplasia so he needed a way to get into and out of our truck without jumping or having my husband pick him up (the dog weighs 100 pounds so imagine). It’s easy to open up but be careful with how you open it as you could easily smash your fingers in the process. It’s sturdy enough but not “rock solid” so make sure you hold onto your dog’s leash as he/she comes down or goes up the ramp. A good ramp, I would recommend it. It was also delivered quickly. We’re happy and so is our dog now that he can hang out with us at the beach without feeling pain from jumping out of our truck.

At 13 years and 125 lbs our mutt, Mitch, was having trouble getting into the SUV and the full-size pick-up. I read through many reviews before selecting a product, and this one seemed the best value for the size of our dog. He goes with us everywhere and it’s a relief not to watch him just stare at the back of the Jeep because he can’t get up on his own. It didn’t take long for him to figure out what the ramp was for, either. In addition, we’ve found other uses for it, (such as holding down flattened cardboard in the back of the truck.) He has slipped on it a bit when it’s been wet, so be sure to always use a spotter.

This ramp has a really good nonslip surface, and is easy to fold. Very handy for our arthritic dog to get in and out of the van

I’m returning to amazon because the non-slip finish is already wearing off after minimal use. However, I would rate this product poorly even if that didn’t happen. It’s too heavy for a dog ramp, it’s clunky and difficult to close. No way is it compact, either.

The non-slip surface started to tear up after the first couple of uses by my 85 LB. Yellow Lab. Installed outdoor carpet w/double sided tape& it works great.
